![]() Tried the same thing with a reboot, again, no joy. So, I have tried deleting all the USB devices from device manager, and letting them be re-detected. When I unplug the powered USB hub, it unfreezes and continues as if nothing was ever wrong! If I connect a powered USB 2.0 hub, the computer freezes. In this case, my digital camcorder is what is not being recognized. I connect a usb 2.0 device, and the system tray tells me the device is not recognized. I connect a usb 1.1 device and it is immediately recognized. 1 GB RAM, AMD Turion 64 processor (yeah, I am a cheapskate on my personal computers.) This is fully patched WinXP Pro, with the latest firmware, chipset drivers, etc. Just now, the USB ports have quit working. I have had it working great about a year for the light-duty stuff I do at home. My personal laptop is this Acer Aspire 5100 that a friend gave me. ![]()
